Humanity Vehicle (Jen Chen人乘) Buddhism is the teaching of wisdom that Śākyamuni Buddha taught humanity.
			Of the Ten Dharma Realms, the human realm is the pivotal one. This is the realm where all past, present and future Buddhas and Bodhisattvas practise for lifetime after lifetime, purifying the mind, eradicating all roots of evil, performing all virtuous deeds and practising the Bodhisattva Way, before attaining Buddhahood.
			Humans play the central role in this world because the six realms of existence (i.e. heaven, asura, human, ghost and hell realms) are created by the human mind. Our state of mind determines our actions (virtuous and non-virtuous) which lead us to transmigrate within the six realms. It is only through continuous practice of the Buddha Way in the human realm that liberation and the attainment of Buddhahood are possible. This is why the Buddha emphasised the importance of being born human, to practise Humanity Vehicle (Jen Chen). Consequently, we ensure our rebirth in human form lifetime after lifetime so we may continue practising the Bodhisattva Way and eventually attain ultimate supreme enlightenment.
			Because the morals of society are decaying, there is a need to actively promote Humanity Vehicle Buddhism (Jen Chen Buddhism). With these teachings that can easily be accepted and applied in everyday life, people can cultivate themselves, eradicate their self-serving temperaments and habits, purify their minds to enhance their pure awareness, unfold their wisdom and follow the Bodhisattva Way, thus creating bliss and brightness in life. Buddhist Master Venerable Tai-Xu said, “To learn Buddhism, one needs to first learn to be a wise and moral person. When one is perfect as a human, one then becomes a Buddha”.
			Humanity Vehicle (Jen Chen) serves as the basis for the other Four Vehicles of Buddhism and ultimately, the Buddhahood Vehicle. It is simply not pragmatic speaking of the ultimate teaching without first embracing the Humanity Vehicle because that would be like building a skyscraper without foundations, or drawing a skyscraper on paper. That would eventually be nothing more than mere illusion.
			Since ancient times, Buddhism has been portrayed as mysterious and profound. The teachings were either not understood or regarded as a subject for academic study. As such, it could not be spread afar to benefit the general public. In view of this, we promote the easily understood and practical Humanity Vehicle (Jen Chen) Buddhism to aid everyone in their understanding and practice so that they may progress from simple to profound levels, practise the Bodhisattva Way and ultimately attain Buddhahood. Without the basic foundation of the Humanity Vehicle (Jen Chen), it will not be possible for one to enter into the profound and subtle Buddhahood Vehicle.
			Over the years, people’s superstitious beliefs (e.g. worship of ghosts and deities) have so coloured Buddhism that it seems to have deviated from the original teachings of the Buddha. Because of this, it is imperative to promote Humanity Vehicle Buddhism (Jen Chen Buddhism). Diligently practising in the true spirit of Buddhism will enable humanity to purify their mind, unfold their wisdom, liberate themselves from suffering and attain true happiness.
